Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

Runebook is intended for users aged 17 and older. By using the Services, you represent that you meet the age requirement for your region and that you have the legal authority to agree to these Terms. Runebook is not directed to children.

2. Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Services in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, servers, accounts, payment systems, or connected systems.
• Use automated systems, bots, scrapers, or other abuse mechanisms to access the Services without our prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
• Attempt to bypass app integrity, trial, subscription, credit, or safety controls.

3. User Conduct and Content Safety

You are responsible for the text, prompts, names, descriptions, and other content you submit.

You may not use the Services to create, request, upload, share, or distribute content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually exploits or endangers minors, promotes violent extremism, invades another person’s privacy, infringes another person’s rights, attempts to bypass safety or security systems, or otherwise creates risk for Runebook, other users, or the public.

We may review, remove, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to accounts, games, content, or features when we believe there has been a violation of these Terms or a risk to the Services, users, or others.

4. AI-Generated Content

Runebook uses AI systems to generate story text, narration, images, and related game content. AI outputs may be unexpected, incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. You are responsible for deciding how to use or rely on generated content.

Runebook does not guarantee that AI-generated content will be error-free, continuous, available, or appropriate for every user.

5. Subscriptions, Adventure Credits, Billing, and Refunds

Active gameplay may require an eligible paid subscription, company-granted entitlement, trial entitlement, or Adventure Credits. Prices, plan availability, usage limits, included features, and credit costs may change for future purchases or billing periods.

Mobile subscriptions offered inside the iOS or Android app are monthly subscriptions only. Annual mobile subscriptions are not offered in the mobile apps.

Except where required by law, all Runebook purchases are final and non-refundable. Subscription fees, Adventure Credit packs, and other digital purchases are not refundable once purchased, renewed, consumed, or used. Runebook uses AI gameplay, voice, memory, media generation, and infrastructure services that carry real provider costs.

Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by those stores and remain subject to their refund rules and account-management processes. Runebook does not provide separate discretionary refunds for store-processed purchases.

If Apple, Google, Stripe, or another processor grants a refund, reversal, chargeback, or revocation, Runebook may revoke or adjust subscription access, remove unused credits, adjust credit balances, restrict future access, or take other account actions needed to reconcile the refunded purchase.

Canceling a subscription stops future renewals. Unless otherwise required by law or store policy, canceling does not refund the current billing period, and access continues only through the period provided by the applicable store or billing provider.

6. Reporting Content and Bugs

If you encounter objectionable content, abusive behavior, a safety concern, or a bug, you can report it through the in-app reporting tools where available or by contacting support@runebook.gg. Reports may include your account information, game id, story context, device or app metadata, screenshots or diagnostics you provide, and your written description so we can investigate and respond.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services, including text, graphics, logos, images, artwork, character designs, software, and product design, is the property of Runebook Labs LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise use content from the Services without our prior written permission except as allowed by the Services.

8. SRD 5.1 Attribution

This work includes material taken from the System Reference Document 5.1 (“SRD 5.1”) by Wizards of the Coast LLC and available at https://dnd.wizards.com/resources/systems-reference-document. The SRD 5.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.

Japanese synthetic narration is generated using VOICEVOX Nemo.

9. User Content

If the Services allow you to submit or post content, you grant Runebook Labs LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, display, process, and store that content in connection with operating, improving, supporting, and securing the Services.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit and that such content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding story outcomes, generated content, feature availability, or release timelines.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RUNEBOOK LABS LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Runebook Labs LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, content you submit, or violation of these Terms.

13. Third-Party Services

The Services may use or link to third-party websites, platforms, payment processors, app stores, authentication providers, AI providers, or other services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for the Services or other users, abused trials or credits, or attempted to bypass security or billing controls.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Runebook Labs LLC regarding your use of the Services.
